![]() Announcement: The 2008-09 New York Whitetail
Classic Sportsman's Show will have a new home. It will be held at the Adirondack Sports
Complex (The Dome) in Queensbury, NY. Just west of Glens Falls,
NY. Dats are March 7 and 8, 2009. Moving the show to a bigger facility
gives us a few more options and obviously more space for vendors while
at the same time keeping the show in the southern Adirondacks and
nearby the Interstate 87.
We'll be making some changes to this year's Big Buck Contest also and will announce those sooon. We hope you sign up for the contest and keep in mind that even a small buck can win a prize. We did not award an archery prize last year because no successful archery hunters made an entry. You can't win if you are not in. Stay tuned for more details. The 2007-08 New York Whitetail Classic was dedicated to the memory of our friend: Horn Hunter - Art Cronin 1954-2007 ![]() This Year's Show:
We had a great time at the 2007-08 NYWC Sportsman's show which featured excellent seminars by the Horn Hunters, Jim Massett and Joe DiNito to name a few. However, thanks to an ice storm, the power went out on this year's New York Whitetail Classic, forcing the closure of the tradeshow at Roaring Brook Ranch. Still, over 250 hunters stuck around for the awards presentation and QDMA banquet.. A generator and the hustling staff at Roaring Brook helped the banquet come off while the most difficult part was getting things organized and making the announcements. We can only imagine such a situation with anyone but a group of deer hunters who are used to staying in camps and going without a few comforts. Sunday, things got back to normal. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

About the NY Whitetail Classic Since 1991 the New York Whitetail Classic has been drawing attention to the quality and size of the deer we have here in the Adirondacks, even though it is open to bucks taken anywhere in our state, most come from the Adirondack and Hudson Valley region. The Sportsman's Show has become the largest social event for hunters this region, with close to 3,000 attending the 2007 Sportsman's show. It gives us an opportunity to view some of the quality white-tailed deer taken each year and enjoy the fellowship of the sportsmen attending.
