NYWC 2007 Big Buck Contest Rules and Instructions

1. All entries must be free-ranging whitetail deer of New York State origin
(i.e. not from enclosures or fenced areas). No entries that have lineage of
other deer outside the state of New York will be accepted.

2. Each hunter is allowed to enter one category. The hunter may choose which
category he/she wants to enter (such as a woman winning first place overall).
The hunter may change at any time up until the final scoring session.

3. All harvested animals that are entered must have been taken legally and
tagged in accordance with the laws set by NYS Department of Environmental
Conservation, NYS Division of Wildlife and the State of NY.

4. Entries must follow the Boone and Crockett Scoring System guidelines for
Whitetail Deer. Scorers for the NYWC Big Buck Contest must be certified scorers
for the New York State Big Buck Club (NYSBBC), Boone & Crockett, or Pope and Young.

5. Any buck entered that has velvet will be scored using the Boone &
Crockett scoring system. The final gross score will then have 2% deducted due to
the velvet being present. The hunter will have the choice to remove all of the
velvet to be re-scored and reentered into the contest.

6. All entries must be accompanied by a completed and signed NYSBBC
official score sheet, NYS 2007-08 Big Game Tag number and a color photograph of
animal harvested. Entries must indicate which category you are entering (Gun,
Bow, Muzzleloader, female or Youth). Entries may be submitted by businesses
associated with the NYWC, taxidermists, outfitters and/or guides on behalf of
their clients as long as the contestant was entered 24 hours before the deer was
harvested.

7. Hunters should send their official score sheets, color photographs, and
NYS 2007-08 Big Game Tag Numbers to: New York Whitetail Classic, PO Box 293,
Lake Luzerne, NY 12846. Deadline for entries is December 31, 2007. Scores must
be received before January 5, 2008 to be included at the scoring session.

8. Official Scoring Session to be held at the Waterhouse Restaurant in
Lake Luzerne, on January 5, 2008, from 10am-4pm.

Only the racks of potential winners will be scored at this session. All
racks not previously scored will be green scored at this session (green score
means the racks will be scored before the mandatory 60 day drying time for B&C has transpired).
In case of a tie, in any category, prizes will be awarded on a first-entered basis. It is solely the
responsibility of the contestant / hunter to have his or her deer scored and entered into the
NYWC by this date or at this session. Failure to do so will waive entrant’s
right to any or all prizes. The New York

Whitetail Classic Big Buck Contest will be closed after this scoring session
and winners will be determined. A press release to announce the winners will be
made after the scores are double-checked.

10. All score sheets and photographs will become the property of the New York
Whitetail Classic and may be used for promotional or informational materials.
The NYWC Board of Directors will have the right at any time to re-score any
entry before the awards ceremony in March. Any entry is subject to investigation
and possible removal at any time during the contest. Due to situations that may
arise, the NYWC Board of Directors has the right to make final judgments on
scores, address concerns or disputes, and substitute prizes that may not be
available at any time.

11. Winners must be present at the NYWC Awards Banquet on March 8, 2008 or have
a representative present to collect their prizes and vest. If for some reason
the hunter cannot attend and has not made alternative arrangements with the New
York Whitetail Classic, the winner will forfeit all prizes and registration fees
and have his/her award and vest mailed to the address indicated on the
registration form.
